I went sledding. (I never thought I'd type that sentence.) Sebastian called on Friday night, to say that he and Steph had purchased blow-up sled-things and they wanted to celebrate the snow storm by sledding in Central Park the next morning. Who was I to snow on their parade? So we met at 11am and walked the half-block into the Park. Well...it was a veritable wonderland of children/sleds/dogs/parents/merriment/frolicking. We had a blast. The wardrobing was an issue, of course, as I don't own what you'd call a snowsuit. But I put workout pants over jeans, et voila, snow pants. It was about as cheerful a morning as you can imagine, although we each almost took out a 5 year-old or two. People: after you go down the hill...MOVE ASIDE. Don't just lay there like you own the damn Park. You risk permanent sled-marks on your face. Afterward, we moved on to my local filthy Starbucks for a hot chocolate. It was the perfect winters morn.

Brent Barrett's Christmas concert couldn't have been better. Great arrangements, wonderful band, packed house, and that VOICE! I've wanted him to be part of the series for years now, and am so thrilled that it turned out so well! He has another one tomorrow (Monday) night at 7pm! You gotta come!

And I put the Christmas tree up! And when I use the word 'up,' it's a bit of an overstatement. It's tiny, but damn cute. I'll take a pix and add it to this thingy. But for now, here's a pix in the very cheerful Birdland dressing room with Brent. And as an homage to one of my favorite blogs, "What's James Wearing?," I'll tell you that I'm awash in Ralph Lauren! So there.

It's rainy and gross here in NYC, but I can't get over how much in the holiday spirit I am! I'm thinking of buying a tree and decorating it in white and silver stuff, since my new living room seems to lend itself to that vibe.

I have the amazing Brent Barrett in concert at Birdland tonight, and although I don't want this blog to become an advertisement for my shows, have to tell you that I'm excited about it. I've loved BB since watching him in "Closer Than Ever." Gorgeous voice, the nicest man in the world, and this concert is celebrating his new holiday cd. This pix is from one of the very first Cast Parties at the very furry King Kong Room. Oh, and Matt Berman is coming in to do lights and sound for BB tonight and tomorrow, along with our very own Rocky Noel. That's right...Noel. Appropriate? I think so.
